When you reduce anything this far it looks ridiculous. Adama and the President are broken. They are acting different. But Adama is no slouch, he retook his ship and is still making the tough decisions. The President is dying. She can hardly stand up anymore. She wants to make her last days stress free if possible. These characters have changed - they have shown human frailties and inhuman strength.

Your "5 points" are, again, reductionism at its finest. Except for the first one. I'm not even sure what that means.

No one says you have to like BSG, but seriously, these are not even good reasons.

Cowboys and Indian plot lines are boring. Sorry.

Making more of an effort to explain both the antagonist and protagonists motivations is important. Also, plot lines have been recycled throughout history. (Research Carl Jung's "seven archetypes".)

I do agree that BSG does waste entire episodes on the most mundane histrionics and melodrama.

Wanting only cops and robbers, good guys and bad guys....I think that is Fridays at 8pm. It is called Stargate.

BSG is much more then that. Of course boil anything down that is worth watching and it is all a "soap opera" or about human interactions...

How is ER or Grey's anatomy or House any different from General Hospital?
Better acting and a prime time slot....

'nough said.
